We are seeking an energetic middle school educator to teach 7 th and 8 th grade math and be a member of the middle school teaching team. Our graduates know themselves, understand others, and shape the future of our diverse world with confidence and compassion. CRS nurtures each student by igniting curiosity, encouraging creativity, and cultivating intellectual engagement. As of right now, I think the only thing I would like to see change is having more accredited/qualified instructors come to the university to head different programs.Charles River School is a unique, inclusive independent PreK-8 school in Dover, MA, which is just 16 miles west of Boston. It also has a transportation program available for those needing it from distant communities. The athletics department is also excellent with a former NFL player heading the program. It has a great many resources for those that actively seek it out. The aid this university offers to it's students is top notch. The library has an enormous collection of Native American history books to choose from. The main entrance is heavily guarded and temperatures and identification is checked every single time. The campus has an excellent library, Biology center, great security, and the food is prepped quite excellent. The cost of the education is a big draw for those students who need to take that route. Sophomore: Although Navajo Technical University is located in a remote area, it has many advantages to attending here. Although, if I was not challenged I think I would not have made it as far as I would have in the profession. It was daunting in certain areas, like making connections and advocating for myself. The program taught me a sense of accountability for my education and my drive to be in Social Work. My internships taught me skills I need to refine and what I need to learn more about, like specific approaches and interpersonal skills. The internships I had throughout my program have been helpful and provided insight as to what I wanted to do for my career in Social Work. The academic experience was not strenuous but challenged me to be involved with the school and the community. I went through the Social Work Program, attending through the Farmington, NM branch. I transferred from San Juan College when I graduated with my Associate's Degree. Graduate Student: My undergraduate program at New Mexico Highlands University was a fantastic experience. I wish I had more professors teaching studio arts courses instead of graduate students. I get frequent text alerts from public safety about violent incidents on or close to campus. I also feel fortunate to have support for my disabilities through the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC).Īll that said, the surrounding area isn't very safe. Working in an institution closely related to my major has enhanced my education.Ĭlinicians at Student Health and Counseling have been so supportive and essential to my wellbeing while I've been in school here. I have a work study job at the UNM Art Museum, where I'm happy to be surrounded by coworkers who are kind, compassionate, and intelligent. Professors here truly want you to succeed, even if they're adjuncts. Through the College of Fine Arts, I have found opportunities to show my work, publish writing, and connect with prestigious artists. Senior: I love UNM! The studio arts program is strong.
